Realme Buds Air 7 Pro Review: The budget ANC pair worth trusting

This isn't a pair for spec-sheet bragging rights. It's for the person who wants noise cancellation that works on a real commute, without paying flagship prices for it.

Realme has spent three generations chasing one promise: real ANC without a real price tag. The Buds Air 7 Pro is the first attempt that fully delivers on it. Where the previous generation's noise cancellation felt more like marketing than function, this one holds up on the one test that matters most — a genuinely crowded morning train.

What it gets right

The ANC handles low, constant rumble (engines, AC units, chatter) far better than anything else we've tested near this price. It won't touch a sudden horn or a shout, but for the droning background noise that actually causes commute fatigue, it's convincingly close to earbuds twice the price.

Battery life is the other standout. Thirty-two hours with the case in hand means most people will charge this once a week, not once a day — and that's the kind of detail that matters more in daily life than another millimeter of driver size.

Where it falls short

Call quality drops noticeably in wind or traffic — the mic doesn't isolate your voice as well as it isolates incoming noise. If most of your calls happen outdoors or on a bike, this is worth weighing against the ANC gains.

Who should buy this

Anyone commuting daily on public transport in a noisy city, and anyone who's been burned before by "ANC" that's really just passive isolation with a marketing label on it. If your calls matter more than your commute, look at the Nord Buds 3 instead — it trades some noise cancellation for a clearer mic.

What we liked

  • ANC that works on real commutes, not just in a quiet room
  • 32-hour battery means weekly charging, not daily
  • Case survives being tossed in a bag with keys

What we didn't

  • Call mic struggles in wind or traffic noise
  • No wireless charging on the case
  • App is basic — fewer EQ presets than rivals
